Bruno Mars at Levi’s Stadium: what to know
Bruno Mars brings The Romantic Tour to Levi’s Stadium, 4900 Marie P DeBartolo Way in Santa Clara, on Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. RAYE, the British singer, and DJ Pee .Wee, the DJ persona of Anderson .Paak, are listed as support on both nights. Individual set times have not been published, so plan to be inside by 7 p.m. if you want to see the openers.
Getting there
Public transit is the least stressful option for a stadium show. VTA light rail stops at Great America station, a short walk from the gates, and connects with Caltrain at Mountain View. ACE trains from the Central Valley also serve Great America station, and Capitol Corridor trains stop at Santa Clara–Great America. Caltrain has published event pages for both Bruno Mars nights, so check them for any extra post-show trains before you set off. If you drive, buy parking in advance through the stadium’s official channels, and expect slow exits from the lots after 11 p.m.

Levi’s Stadium enforces a clear-bag policy, and tickets are mobile only. East Bay: Mastodon, High on Fire and Musiq Soulchild
Mastodon bring their Poisonous Weapons Tour to the Fox Theater in Oakland, doors at 6 p.m. The Fox is opposite 19th Street Oakland BART, which makes it one of the easiest big venues in the region to reach from San Francisco. In Berkeley, High on Fire play the UC Theatre, doors at 7 p.m., and The Freight holds its Celebrate The Freight gala with Rickie Lee Jones, Wu Fei and Abigail Washburn, and Mia Pixley at 7:30 p.m. Musiq Soulchild has two shows a night at Yoshi’s in Jack London Square on Friday and Saturday, with doors at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
Peninsula and South Bay
Slightly Stoopid open the weekend at the Frost Amphitheater on the Stanford campus at 4 p.m., an outdoor lawn venue that suits their reggae-rock sets. At the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, tribute band Rumours of Fleetwood Mac plays at 7:30 p.m., with views over the valley before sunset.
North Bay
Toad the Wet Sprocket play the cookout concert series at Hopmonk Tavern in Novato at 6 p.m., Az/Dz play the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma at 8 p.m., and Air Supply perform at the Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa, doors at 6:30 p.m.

Free comic con and a card show in Santa Clara County
The Santa Clara City Library Comic Con fills Central Park Library, 2635 Homestead Road, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a retro theme, guests Judd Winick and Gene Luen Yang, an artist alley, signings, tabletop games and food trucks. Entry is free. On Saturday and Sunday, the inaugural Bay Area Card Show takes over the Expo Hall at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road in San Jose, with more than 300 tables of sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece, plus express grading from PSA and CGC. Sanctioned Pokémon and One Piece events require advance registration.
Concerts outside the city
Taking Back Sunday play the Frost Amphitheater at 7 p.m.. The Quarry Amphitheater at UC Santa Cruz hosts a heavy bill of Acid Bath with High on Fire, the Melvins and Windhand, doors at 5:30 p.m. Tune-Yards headline an outdoor show at Point San Pablo Harbor in Richmond at 6 p.m. with Foxtails Brigade and Gabby La La. Los Horóscopos de Durango play the Mountain Winery at 7:30 p.m., Sons of Legion are at the Fox Theater in Oakland with doors at 6 p.m., and the Indian violinist L. Shankar plays The Freight in Berkeley at 8 p.m.
Peninsula and North Bay
The Spooky Book Faire at San Mateo’s Main Library runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live readings, games and author sales for adults. In Marin, Jackie Greene plays Hopmonk Tavern in Novato at 6 p.m., and in Sonoma County, house music veteran Mark Farina is at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma at 8 p.m.
